What Community Watch is
Community Watch is a private, members-only tool built for Swieqi residents. It lets neighbours log local incidents on an interactive map — vandalism, fly-tipping and dumping, noise complaints, and parking or traffic issues — with photos, so the problem is visible and verifiable. Reports can be upvoted and confirmed by other residents, tracked through a clear set of statuses, and browsed in a filterable feed. The platform stays focused on one locality so the picture of what's happening is accurate and up to date.
Map-pinned incidents
Every report is dropped exactly where it happened, inside Swieqi's boundaries.
Photo uploads
Attach photos so moderators and the council can see the problem firsthand.
Neighbour confirmation
Residents confirm an issue is still active, raising its priority for moderators.
Status tracking
Follow each report from Open to Acknowledged, In Progress, Resolved or Rejected.

Who it's for
Community Watch is for Swieqi residents. Sign-up is geofenced to the locality — your home location must be inside Swieqi to join — so the map and feed stay a trusted, neighbour-only space. Members can be residents, moderators or administrators, with moderators and admins able to review and manage reports.
Why it exists
This is a community-benefit project, not a commercial product. It was built to help residents look out for their neighbourhood and to give the local council and police a clearer, organised picture of local issues — including a PDF export designed for exactly that purpose. Free to use, with no charge to residents.
How it works

Report an incident
A resident drops a pin, adds a category, description and optional photo.

Track its status
The report moves through statuses as moderators review and act on it. Neighbours can confirm it's still an issue.

Export for council / police
Organised data can be exported as a PDF to give authorities a clear, time-stamped picture of local issues.
Privacy by design
On public views — the map, feed and comments — authors are shown only as first name plus last initial (for example, “David C.”). Full names, email addresses and home locations are never exposed to other residents; they are visible only to moderators and administrators, and only to verify reports. This is enforced in the database, not just hidden in the interface.

Community Watch is free to use, with no charge to residents. The project is community-run and, going forward, may show occasional light advertising and/or accept optional donations. Any such support simply helps cover running costs — it never affects how reports are handled, and the platform remains free for every Swieqi resident.
